Chun Mee has a distinctive plum-like flavor and buttery taste that is sweeter and lighter than many green teas. Also known as “precious eyebrow” tea because of the delicate, eyebrow-like shape of the tea leaves, this tea is an exceptional example of a classic Chinese green tea, with a mellow flavor and clean finish.

Cups Per Package

This luxury loose leaf tea is carefully blended and packaged by hand in a reusable tin or a resealable kraft bag. Our 4 oz. tin or kraft bag makes approximately 40 cups of tea. Our 8 oz. kraft bag makes approximately 80 cups.

Ingredients

Organic green tea (Origin: Zhejiang Province, China)

Tasting Notes

Plum-like and buttery, with a soft mouthfeel, a light minerality, and sweet, floral, and vegetal notes.

How to Brew Chun Mee Tea

Use 1 level teaspoon per 12 oz. water. Heat water until briskly steaming (not boiling). Steep for 1 to 2 minutes. For best taste, do not over steep.

We recommend preparing Chun Mee using a teapot, tea infuser, or tea filter. These brewing methods give the tea leaves enough room to expand as the tea steeps, resulting in a richer, more flavorful cup.

Chun Mee Tea Caffeine Content

Green tea is low in caffeine.

Chun Mee Tea Benefits

Green tea boosts energy, enhances mood, and helps with focus.

More About Chun Mee

Chun Mee is a light, mild Chinese green tea with a characteristic buttery, plum-like flavor. It has a slightly astringent taste and a clean finish. Like all green teas, Chun Mee is made from the leaves of the camellia sinensis plant, and is pan-fired soon after harvesting in order to halt oxidation and preserve its bright green color. In Chinese, Chun Mee means "precious eyebrow," poetically referring to the distinctive long, curved leaves of this delicate tea.

Chun Mee is a popular tea among green tea lovers and newcomers alike, with a mellow flavor and a small amount of caffeine. In general, Chinese green teas are lighter than their Japanese counterparts, which are known for their rich, grassy flavor. Our organic Chun Mee brews up into a pale yellow liquor, and has a subtly sweet flavor, with a fuller body than white teas but lighter body than most other green teas. If you’re interested in exploring different types of green tea, Chun Mee is a tasty and approachable tea that is sure to please!

Chun Mee tea and Artful Tea

I've been drinking green tea at breakfast for twenty-five years and this particular one has become my staple since I walked into Artful Tea in Santa Fe over five years ago. It has a flavor I find both subtle and bold. Easy to drink several cups.

Artful Tea has been sending me this tea via mail for five years. It's a wonderful, independent shop that knows tea terrifically well and has a large assortment of teas they've hand chosen. Prices are quite reasonable, and it has been a pleasure to speak with owners and staff on the occasional call I make. Strongly recommended.
